Condensation clues

Condensation is common on colder surfaces, behind furniture and in rooms with high humidity. It often worsens in winter or after showers, cooking and clothes drying.

Leak clues

A leak is more likely when staining is localised, grows after rain or plumbing use, produces salts or damages the same area repeatedly despite ventilation changes.

Treat the cause first

Anti-mould paint can help protect a properly prepared surface, but it will not stop water entering or solve persistent high humidity by itself.
